WIP 001 - Retexturing Tekken Tag's Nina Williams

Tekken Nina Williams CG texture
WORK.IN.PROGRESS For a project I'm working on, I wanted to create a more detailed version of Nina's Tekken Tag Tournament (1) face texture. Tekken 3/TTT Nina has always been my favourite of all her character designs, and I still think she looked her best in the late 90s...

In the pictures above we have the original Namco-designed texture from ca 1999 (left) next to the one I put together. My design is basically a Jill Valentine Frankenstein monster. It's a collage of parts I cut out of Jill's Resident Evil 5 textures + many hours in PhotoShop. (Death by Degrees Nina (3rd picture) was solely used for skin tone reference).
As I said, the goal was a more realistic - HD - detailed look; visible pores on the skin texture and such meticulous current gen extravagances! It roughly took 74% perfectionism and 26% OCD to keep her signature T3/TTT features intact. The eyes look off, yeah, but this texture will have to work on a 3D model, and the eyeballs have their own separate texture. And so do the lashes. And the ears. Ehhh, still a bit of work left..
[P.S Craig, my friend, I'm sorry. This project is eating up every bit of the little free time I have... (I'm sorry to you, too, Social Life!) But I'm looking forward to reading TLC and DR as soon as I'm taking a break from this. Let the Williams Gospel sound! Haha]

  1. Wow, that's...that's a lot of work, and dedication. 0_0 If this all comes together, it'll by far be the most amazing thing you've done for this site to date. Also, I am going to stop looking at it now, because seeing model textures flattened-out like that always makes me think someone's had their skin sliced off their body, Leatherface-style, and it's freaking me out.

And don't you worry about reading anything, I completely understand. :)

    1. Thanks for your advice.
You're right, Jill is extremely pale in Resident Evil 5. I recoloured the skin tone accordingly. As you can see above, I used a picture of Nina in Death by Degrees as reference.
You can get a better look of the texture applied to the 3D mesh of her head here: http://blondebombmag.blogspot.com/2013/05/wip-005-remodeling-classic-nina-williams.html
