It took me a while (and a lot of re-parenting bones and sub-skeletons), but here they are! This is a collection of every single 3D model that was created specifically to be used in Death by Degrees' cinematic real-time cut-scenes. These are generally more detailed, higher poly versions of the in-game models used exclusively for some of the cinematic interludes that are neither pre-rendered nor in-game.

Nina Williams Tekken 3 Arcade Decal
I found this the first week right after I moved to London. It's a roughly 70 cm tall decal from the Tekken 3 Arcade machine. It provides a good look at Nina's Tekken 3 arcade character model, which has quite a few advantages when compared to the one found in the PlayStation console release of Tekken 3, like higher resolution textures and a higher poly mesh (e.g. the hands, which boast individually modelled fingers on the arcade model whereas the console counterpart only had a solid block with a finger texture applied to it).

Character Model Library: Tekken 4's Nina Williams
With smart people on the internet constantly finding new and improved ways to access videogame data of formerly unknown formats and/or unintelligible code I decided it's time to collect, store and document the many incarnations Nina Williams went through over the years, in a convenient way that would let me easily access and view her different 3D models.

CR鉄拳 Tekken Pachinko - Nina Williams CG Cinematics Compilation

I finally found a way to upload a compilation video of the complete set of Nina and Anna scenes from CR鉄拳 without YouTubes compression doing horrible things to the image quality. Viewed at 1920x1080 full-screen this compilation video will display the cinematics in their original resolution as found in the iOS App (400x224 and 400x256). Naturally, Youtube's compression is still present, but not as noticable as in the previous video. Enjoy.

Tekken Pachislot trumps competitors with Nina Williams content en masse
Goddamn, and I thought CR鉄拳 had a lot of Nina content. Well, it got trumped by 鉄拳3rd in that regard, the Yamasa developed pachi-slot machine that has been released to Japanese pachi-slot/pachinko parlors in early July, and just recently got ported to iOS mobile devices.

Of elusive renders and broken dreams - Tekken 4's Nina Williams
Throughout the years Namco have sent out some of the industry's nicest press kits for its Tekken series, each of them designed beautifully, usually packing some cool and creative memorabilia. When I got my hands on the Tekken 4 press kit I couldn't help but ignore all this and instead tear open carefully unwrap the box to find the holy grail each of these press-exclusive sets comes with: the press disc. Would I finally solve the mystery of Nina's official Tekken 4 CG artwork? Was the beautiful headshot we got when the game released back in 2002 indeed just a close-up, cut from a full-body render, the ones Namco has created for every single one of the Tekken games. Where else, apart from Namco's servers or Harada's personal HDD, would I possibly be able to find this elusive artwork if not on Tekken 4's official and extremely rare press disc?

CR Tekken Pachinko Nina Williams goodness for the iPhone
Imagine the look on my face when I found the CR Tekken pachinko (CR鉄拳) released as an ipad/iphone game on the Japanese appstore. Finally, no need to sit through hour long youtube videos of people playing the pachinko anymore, just to get a shaky-cam glimpse at some never-to-be-seen-live-in-the-west Nina goodness.

Nina Williams Bishoujo prototype revealed at WonderCon 2014
Just a quick update on Kotobukiya's Nina Williams Bishoujo statue. Kotobukiya held a panel at last weekend's WonderCon to preview their Spring 2014 line-up where attendees got an exclusive first look at the Nina Williams statue which is next in line in their Tekken Tag Tournament 2 bishoujo run.

Kotobukiya announces Nina Williams Bishoujo featuring all new design
My first post after such a long time was supposed to revolve around the making of the pre-rendered ending cinematics for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but 2 days ago, just as I was trying to make sense of the Japanese text I was reading, Kotobukiya (FINALLY) announced Nina Williams as the next release in their long running Tekken Tag Tournament 2 bishoujo line.

Nina Williams Nude - ClickBait Edition
With Namco's recent trademark filing for SoulCalibur Unbreakable Soul, plus SoulCalibur Lost Swords and SoulCalibur 2 HD Online releasing later this year, this thought came back to me again; Nina in a Soul game - why isn't this a thing already? Tekken's Yoshimitsu has been a member of the cast since 1998's SoulCalibur, Heihachi was a playable guest character in SoulCalibur 2 and, above all, Namco themselves planted the idea of an iron clad, sword fighting, medieval version of Nina into my head with her Tekken 5 ending FMV - a major tease if ever there was one. So here's my request, Namco: Nina Williams for SoulCalibur6/7/whateverIcanWait6! And while you're at it (cos I know one of the three people reading this blog MUST be working for Namco, dead sure...) click "read more" to get an idea of the kind of "damage models" your next gen Soul game should feature (...)

New CR Tekken footage of Nina Williams
As was pointed out to me by fellow Nina fan and reader of this blog, Fredrik, new footage of CR Tekken (you know, that soon-to-be-released Japanese pachinko) has been released online. Mixing some familiar Tekken FMV scenes with a lot of new exclusive prerendered CGI it features video introductions for a selection of 9 characters, and luckily for us Nina afficionados Nina's scenes are beautiful, action packed and all new. [In an effort to tame the picture clutter I will be using jump breaks from now on. For more info and additional pictures - I usually have lots of them - please click the "read more" link below]

Tekken Revolution and Nina Williams' face both get an update
September will see the release of a major update for Namco's PlayStation3 exclusive free2play title Tekken Revolution, which will finally add Nina to the game's character roster. In the short trailer Namco released to highlight the update we get a good look at Nina's new face which received a substantial makeup makeover due to Namco's desire to prettify the female cast...
