Back to Blogging - from London

You didn't think I would just leave this place behind and never come back, did you? I've been travelling for the past couple of months, moved to London in January, and spent my first few weeks here flat hunting. All of that is out of the way now. I found a beautiful home in Canary Wharf, and I work in videogames now (/currently), which is so very different from what I've done before, yet still so close to my interests. I mainly work with Nintendo, though, so don't expect any super rare, top secret Namco art assets just yet. ;-)

CR鉄拳 Tekken Pachinko - Nina Williams CG Cinematics Compilation

Tekken Pachinko CG Video Scenes Compilation
I finally found a way to upload a compilation video of the complete set of Nina and Anna scenes from CR鉄拳 without YouTubes compression doing horrible things to the image quality. Viewed at 1920x1080 full-screen this compilation video will display the cinematics in their original resolution as found in the iOS App (400x224 and 400x256). Naturally, Youtube's compression is still present, but not as noticable as in the previous video. Enjoy.

Tekken Pachislot trumps competitors with Nina Williams content en masse

Tekken Pachi-slot Nina CG scenes Yamasa
Goddamn, and I thought CR鉄拳 had a lot of Nina content. Well, it got trumped by 鉄拳3rd in that regard, the Yamasa developed pachi-slot machine that has been released to Japanese pachi-slot/pachinko parlors in early July, and just recently got ported to iOS mobile devices.

Nina Williams Bishoujo prototype revealed at WonderCon 2014

Kotobukiya Wondercon Bishoujo Tekken
Just a quick update on Kotobukiya's Nina Williams Bishoujo statue. Kotobukiya held a panel at last weekend's WonderCon to preview their Spring 2014 line-up where attendees got an exclusive first look at the Nina Williams statue which is next in line in their Tekken Tag Tournament 2 bishoujo run.

Kotobukiya announces Nina Williams Bishoujo featuring all new design

Kotobukiya Tekken Nina Bishojo Statue

My first post after such a long time was supposed to revolve around the making of the pre-rendered ending cinematics for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but 2 days ago, just as I was trying to make sense of the Japanese text I was reading, Kotobukiya (FINALLY) announced Nina Williams as the next release in their long running Tekken Tag Tournament 2 bishoujo line.

New CR Tekken footage of Nina Williams

Tekken Pachinko Pachislot Movie CG
As was pointed out to me by fellow Nina fan and reader of this blog, Fredrik, new footage of CR Tekken (you know, that soon-to-be-released Japanese pachinko) has been released online. Mixing some familiar Tekken FMV scenes with a lot of new exclusive prerendered CGI it features video introductions for a selection of 9 characters, and luckily for us Nina afficionados Nina's scenes are beautiful, action packed and all new. [In an effort to tame the picture clutter I will be using jump breaks from now on. For more info and additional pictures - I usually have lots of them - please click the "read more" link below]

Tekken Revolution and Nina Williams' face both get an update

Tekken Revolution New Face Nina
September will see the release of a major update for Namco's PlayStation3 exclusive free2play title Tekken Revolution, which will finally add Nina to the game's character roster. In the short trailer Namco released to highlight the update we get a good look at Nina's new face which received a substantial makeup makeover due to Namco's desire to prettify the female cast...

With my weekly GamesPress digest news letter came confirmation that physical cards for Tekken Card Tournament are now officially available in stores. Even better news: Tekken's First Lady seems to also be Tekken Card Tournament's official poster girl, gracing the stand-up display of every counter top dispenser next to poster boy Kazuya...

Nina Williams PHICEN figure preorders ending May 5th

Nina Tekken figure Phicen 1:6
Just a short reminder: Preorders for PHICEN's 1:6 scale Nina Williams collectible figure are ending May 5th. More on this stunning piece later (/pieces actually, as the figure comes with a plethora of accessories), in my interview with Chad, the man behind SMcG Customs, who has worked with PHICEN on several pop culture femme fatale beauties before, and basically is the reason this figure exists. You can preorder NINA VER. 1.0 through one of your local places or, as I did, directly through SMcG's official site smcgcustoms.com

Tekken Card Tournament - Addictive Nina Deck Building Extravaganza

Tekken Card iPhone Screenshot
The one mobile game that saved my life on a very lonesome train ride back home. Tekken Card Tournament released 3 days ago among iOS and Android devices, and I haven’t stopped playing since. This little fucker triggered all the predictable OCD/addiction/collecting patterns of behaviour for me, and I love it...

A closer look at SFxTK Mobile for iOS touch devices

Street Fighter Tekken iOS
Kudos, Capcom. Before I get into the details, the point that stands out to me the most with their recent release of Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile is that this game really doesn't feel like a port, this version has been reworked from the ground up to suit touch screen devices. Read my review after the jump...

Tekken Ball is the latest love child of TTT2 and the WiiU

Tekken Tag Ball WiiU Nina
The TTT2-WiiU love story continues with the latest confession of love being the return of Tekken Ball for the Nintendo console version of the fighter. No word yet on a Ball DLC for xBox or PlayStation. This really bears very little relevance to Nina, other than the official screen shot above and finally having an excuse to put her swimsuit to good use... in a game of deadly beach ball. Guess I'm just posting this because I'd like me some of that Tekken Ball feeling here, please; my vacation is being terrorized by bad weather.
